Holy Cross Elementary students were treated to a reading of the book

The Beignet That Almost Got Away by co-authors Joanne Mehrtens and Pat Roig.

The two childhood educators have written four books set in New Orleans

and featuring two lovable cockroaches, Ralph and Roxanne:

Clothilde's MeeMawSwallows Mardi Gras

and Jockamo Knows Gumbo.

The authors thoroughly entertained the Holy Cross students in grades PK3 through grade 6 with their adorable roach puppets, reading, singing, and dancing.
