First
Communion Policy
According to the code of Canon Law of the
Catholic Church #842:
“Anyone who has not received baptism
cannot be validly admitted for the Sacrament of
Eucharist”.
Likewise, anyone who is baptized in another
Christian Faith cannot receive the Eucharist.
Anyone wishing to receive Eucharist and
having reached the use of reason (age 7)
must follow the guidelines of
the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Children.
This Initiation Process is to be extended over
several years.
Therefore, any child who has not been baptized
or received into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church
before the beginning of the school year of their 2nd grade
WILL NOT BE ALLOWED
to receive First Communion that school year.
